Join the Nomad North Forum

Nomad North LogoNomad has extended it's Nomad Network into the North of England to form a Regional Fourm to help like minded Local Authorities come together to promote best practice and share experiences in developing and using mobile, wireless & flexible working.

As you move forward with your own plans develop flexible and mobile working in your own authorities – we would like to ask, are you:

  • Looking for more information and support to develop mobile working?
  • Deep in a new major building strategy with flexible working as the norm?
  • Trying to get behind the ICT sales pitch?
  • Looking to share experiences with colleagues?
  • Trying to avoid the same old problems and issues?

These are all good reasons to get involved with the Nomad North Regional Forum.

Nomad is recognised nationally as a centre of excellence, advice and information on all aspects of using flexible working and mobile working to provide transformed and better public service. Nomad, hosted by Cambridgeshire County Council, provides local authorities with a wealth of free expertise and information in a single place and promotes and supports the sharing of experiences between councils. As demand has grown Nomad has adapted and established a new regional dimension, Nomad North.

The Nomad North Regional Forum is designed to provide colleagues from the public sector with an outlet to discuss local themes and focus on flexible and mobile take up in the region.  With regular opportunities to meet, share experience, expertise and get support.

Nomad North has just begun to establish itself, with the leadership of Ken Eastwood (Barnsley MBC).  But this regional forum can only be run with the help of some committed volunteers to form a working core group.  This Core Group will plan and deliver a regional programme of meetings and events that will be determined by the group with local themes and agendas in mind.

The commitment needed is a small amount of time on a regular basis and lots of enthusiasm to promote flexible and mobile working.  It is clear that many of us are facing the same challenges in using the enablers of flexible and mobile working to transform services and we can all gain if we pool and share our resources and experience. Nomad North can be a valuable asset. Will you get involved?

Ken will convene the Core Group for meetings and would like to have as many involved as possible with ideas for a programme that we could deliver. If you want to get involved with the core group or be notified of Nomad North specific events or wider meetings, please email us at: nomad@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
