| ANITE Attains Gold Certified Partner Status in Microsoft Partner Program Anite Further Distinguishes Itself by Earning a Microsoft Competency in Mobility and ISV/Software Solutions - 6 June 2006 Anite, the international IT solutions and services company, has today announced that it has attained Gold Certified status in the Microsoft Partner Program, in recognition of its expertise and impact in the technology marketplace. As a Gold Certified partner, Anite has demonstrated expertise with Microsoft technologies and proven ability to meet customers’ needs. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners receive a rich set of benefits, including access, training and support, giving them a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Steve Rowley, Chief Executive, Anite Group plc, said: “We are delighted to have attained Gold Certified status in the Microsoft Partner Program. This allows us to clearly promote our expertise and relationship with Microsoft to our customers. The benefits provided through our Gold Certified status will allow us to continue to enhance the offerings that we provide for customers.” As one of the requirements for attaining Gold Certified Status, Anite had to declare a Microsoft Competency. Microsoft Competencies are designed to help differentiate a partner’s capabilities with specific Microsoft technologies to customers looking for a particular type of solution. Each Competency has a unique set of requirements and benefits, formulated to accurately represent the specific skills and services that partners bring to the technology industry. The Microsoft ISV/Software Solutions Competency recognises the skill and focus partners bring to a particular solution set. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners that have obtained this Competency have a successful record of developing and marketing packed software based on Microsoft technologies. Allison Watson, vice president of the Worldwide Partner Sales and Marketing Group at Microsoft Corp, said: “Customers are looking for partner companies that can bridge the gap between their business demands and technology capabilities. They need to trust in someone that can act as an expert adviser for their long-term strategic technology plans. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners, which have certified expertise and direct training and support from Microsoft, can build a positive customer experience with our technologies. Today, Microsoft recognises Anite as a new Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for demonstrating its expertise in providing customer satisfaction with Microsoft products and technology.” The Microsoft Partner Program was launched in December 2003 and represents Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to the success of partners worldwide. The program offers a single, integrated partnering framework that recognises partner expertise, rewards the total impact that partners have in the technology marketplace, and delivers more value to help partners’ businesses be successful. Sanjay Parthasarathy, corporate vice president of the Platform Strategy and Partner Group at Microsoft, said: “Solutions Competencies are an important way for Microsoft to better enable ISVs to meet customer needs,. They allow ISVs to keep and win customers with their deep knowledge of solutions-based Microsoft platform technologies. Microsoft has a long history of working closely with ISV partners to help deliver compelling solutions and applications to our mutual customers, and the Solutions Competencies are an important step in continuing to enhance vital relationships with ISVs worldwide.” Tony Cocks, solutions channel development manager, Microsoft UK said: “We are delighted that Anite has attained Gold partnership accreditation for the Microsoft Mobility Solutions Competency program. This program is designed specifically for our partners, such as Anite, who are providing mobile solutions that enable their customers to access information whilst on the go. With Microsoft Windows Mobile software, data can be captured quickly and accurately and processed to a business system more rapidly than with paper-based approaches. Microsoft Competencies differentiate our partner’s capabilities with Microsoft technologies so that customers can more easily find the solutions partner and resources that match their needs.” -ENDS- DWP awards £4.1 million to Anite mobile working project
Anite, the specialist provider of IT solutions to the public sector, today announced that the Department of Work and Pensions’ (DWP) Performance Standards Fund (PSF) has awarded £3 million to the second phase of its Pericles Mobile Working Project. The efficiency-driven initiative will transform the work of local authority Benefits departments by enabling visiting officers to access information remotely via mobile devices. It is estimated that the project will generate £19 million of direct cost savings over five years. Through major efficiency advances in the back-office, the project will help councils to become more customer-centric, productive and efficient, allowing staff to focus on the needs of individual citizens. The funding follows the approval of £1.1 million for phase one of the project in December 2004 and brings the DWP’s total investment to £4.1 million. The initiative is one of a number of national products for specific software users developed with the support of the Housing Benefit Performance Standards Fund. Pericles is a fully integrated browser-based solution which supports revenue collection for council tax and non-domestic rates, as well as administration for housing and council tax benefits. By integrating the system with mobile devices such as tablet PCs, the Pericles Mobile Working Project will allow visiting officers to remotely access and download centrally held data in the field, such as relevant case details. Data can then be captured and updated during the visit and can be verified by the claimant prior to being uploaded directly to the central system. The solution is underpinned by Anite’s mobility platform mSync.net. Developed in association with Microsoft, the platform can be applied to any field-based role in the UK public sector and is already being used by over 150 local authorities. Mike Kingswood, managing director of local government at Anite, said: “Mobile working is a key element in modernising government and, although technology is only part of the solution, it can provide the backbone for the delivery of an efficient and more transparent service. Pericles has been developed specifically with the local authority e-government agenda in mind and Anite is delighted to have secured DWP funding for the second phase of this project. Ultimately, it’s about improving ways of working and transforming customer service.” Gateshead Council, the lead authority for the 12 councils involved in developing phase one of the project, will lead the final phase of the project which now involves 19 other local authorities, a total of 31. The initial work will involve bringing the new sites to phase one status, which will enable the automated scheduling of visits and processing reviews. This will include the supply of hardware, software and implementation services. Phase two of the project will also enable officers to complete tasks during the claimant interview, including capturing images of original documentation, processing change of circumstances and new claims and providing a calculation of payment details via an in-built Benefits Calculator. Anite worked with four of the original 12 local authorities to develop the business case for phase two. Anite’s BPI (Business Process Improvement) methodology, used in conjunction with its partner Sequena, identified that implementation of the initiative will generate £19 million of direct cost savings over five years and benefit the DWP, authorities and citizens through:
